چکیده

We describe the stack of partial stabilizations of prestable curves. We use this description to obtain examples of proper morphisms of schemes having no flattening stratification and to obtain results on the existence of global quotient stack presentations in the setting of moduli stack of prestable curves of genus 0 DOI: https://doi.org/10.1112/blms/bds066 Posted at the Zurich Open Repository and Archive, University of Zurich ZORA URL: https://doi.org/10.5167/uzh-86027 Published Version Originally published at: Kresch, Andrew (2013). Equivariant Versal Deformations of Semistable Curves

We prove that given any n-pointed prestable curve C of genus g with linearly reductive automorphism group Aut(C), there exists an Aut(C)equivariant miniversal deformation of C over an affine variety W . In other words, we prove that the algebraic stack Mg,n parametrizing n-pointed prestable curves of genus g has an étale neighborhood of [C] isomorphic to the quotient stack [W/Aut(C)].

Morphisms from Azumaya prestable curves with a fundamental module to a projective variety: Topological D-strings as a master object for curves

This is a continuation of our study of the foundations of D-branes from the viewpoint of Grothendieck in the region of the related Wilson’s theory-space where “branes” are still branes. In this work, we focus on D-strings and construct the moduli stack of morphisms from Azumaya prestable curves C with a fundamental module E to a fixed target Y of a given combinatorial type. Such a morphism give...

Skeletons of stable maps II: superabundant geometries

We implement new techniques involving Artin fans to study the realizability of tropical stable maps in superabundant combinatorial types. Our approach is to understand the skeleton of a fundamental object in logarithmic Gromov–Witten theory—the stack of prestable maps to the Artin fan. This is used to examine the structure of the locus of realizable tropical curves and derive three principal co...

Delineating Hydrocarbon Bearing Zones Using Elastic Impedance Inversion: A Persian Gulf Example

Reservoir characterization plays an important role in different parts of an industrial project. The results from a reservoir characterization study give insight into rock and fluid properties which can optimize the choice of drilling locations and reduce risk and uncertainty. Delineating hydrocarbon bearing zones within a reservoir is the main objective of any seismic reservoir characterization...

Modeling and simulation of a new architecure stack applied on the PEM Fuel Cell

To simulate a new economical architecture for PEM fuel cell and investigate the effectiveness of the introduced structure on the performance, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code is used to solve the equations for a single domain of the cell namely: the flow field, the mass conservation, the energy conservation, the species transport, and the electric/ionic fields under the assumptions of st...
